STERNALIA'S DONATIONS TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER CENTRE D'ACOLLIDA D'ANIMALS DE COMPANYIA OF BARCELONA (CAACB)

OUR COMMITMENT AS A LOCAL COMPANY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY.
It is an obvious thing that everybody has its own passions and it is no mystery that our passion is culture. However, we also have a hidden passion (that we are going to reveal today) and that is that we love animals.
Since our foundation at 2011, we wanted to make a positive impact for Barcelona, but for its animals as well and, some years later, we found out the answer at the animal shelter Centre d’Acollida d’Animals de Companyia de Barcelona (CAACB).
How did it happen?
Every year we celebrate during summer season our Dinners with Stars at Fabra Observatory. We used to lend some blankets during the dinner at the terrace to our visitors and, at the end of the season, we ended up having a huge number of blankets that nobody would use. So, we had the idea of giving all those blankets to the cats and dogs of the shelter. The next summer, we would buy new blankets for our dinners and, this way, every year we would give the same donation for all our animals.
What happened at 2020 during the pandemic?
Covid-19 left consequences to everybody and every company. We also had to make changes and one of these changes was that we no longer could lend blankets. Once a person opened the wrapper of a blanket, this person had to keep the blanket. So, we had to start selling these blankets and that left us with no more blankets to give to the shelter. But we didn’t want to fail to our compromise as a company aware of the needs of animal welfare, so since then, we have bought and donate 100 blankets each year to keep helping the animals during winter. From our perspective, the welfare of the animals it’s also a public health matter.
There are many causes that local companies can help with to improve our city. At Sternalia Productions we always follow our hearts and have chosen ours.
