Schools: Surgery and Enlightenment
What is it?
WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DO WE LEARN WITH THIS VISIT?
It is a guided tour through the history of this building. The visit incorporates some moments of dramatization in which some of the same students will have to represent four characters: the philosopher Voltaire, for being one of the main representatives of the Enlightenment, the surgeon Pere Virgili, founder of the building, King Charles III, who also played a role in its foundation, and Dolors Aleu, the first medical graduate in Spain.
We will learn to relate local heritage to its historical context, especially with its past in the context of the Enlightenment, and to empathize with historical figures by understanding their way of thinking and seeing the world.
RECOMMENDED AGES:
From 16 to 18 years old.
METHODOLOGY:
We follow the formula of the classic guided tour, but we incorporate a brief dramatization of historical figures. It will be the students themselves who will have to interpret these characters that will appear throughout the visit, in order to develop critical thinking in according to the historical time.
DURATION:
The activity lasts 1 hour
PRICE:
5 euros per student, with a minimum reservation of 30 students.

To make changes to the reservation, you must inform with more than 72h in advance of the day that the activity will be done, either to change the day or cancel it.
For groups of 10 people or more, they must notify more than 5 days in advance.
The cancellation of the reservation with refund of the amount paid, can be made within the maximum period of 30 days from the date of acquisition and will incur a cost of € 5. If you cancel after 30 days you will lose the entire amount. The changes and cancellations of the reservation can not be made via e-mail, you must call 93 170 17 97. Sternalia agrees to return the amount within a maximum period of 10 calendar days from the moment the person has facilitated Your account number for the return.
The organization reserves the right to cancel the activity for not achieving the minimum capacity required, for occasional maintenance of the telescope and / or if the access or exit of the venue is affected, the participants will be notified as soon as possible when the procedure begins of cancellation. In this case, an alternative date will be offered.
